DLA Piper Canada Receives PrideWeek Speech from Toronto Lawyer Angela Chaisson

Litigation lawyer Angela Chaisson is please to deliver a Pride Week speech for global law firm DLA Piper, as part of their Professional Development Programming. DLA Piper’s Diversity Committee organized the event and live streamed Angela’s speech to all of their offices across Canada.

Angela spoke about the Canadian Federal Government’s “Gay Purge”, in which federal employees were investigated, sanctioned and fired for being LGBTQ+. The Federal Government continued the Purge into the 1990s. Angela also discussed how Canadian governments continue to discriminate against LGBTQ+ people, and have her opinions on how today’s politicians can be better.
